KETOGENIC diet makes your testicles shrink

Ketogenic diet (also known as Keto) is a dietary regimen where a person has to keep their carbohydrate intake below 20g a day as well as primarily eating unprocessed fat-containing products.

Ketogenic diet has become a “trend” in today's world. Thanks to its fast results and sustainability it has gathered plethora of followers. It has been there for a long time, but only recently people discovered its positive effects on human brain and body. Famous celebrities like Jordan Peterson, Thomas DeLauer, Jennifer Lopez and others have been going on Keto as well.

Glycogenesis is a way that the body transforms excessive protein into glucose. Once you reach the “ketosis” state, your brain feeds off the production of ketones. What that means is that the body switches its fuel to fats, instead of carbohydrates. Thanks to the levels of insulin, your thoughts get clear, your mind is sharp a and also your mood swings stop. Some say that it increases your testosterone levels.

But does it?...

But recent stories show that Keto is not as beneficial as we thought. It turns out that the ketogenic diet actually makes your testicles smaller.

There was a study performed on two groups 250 people. The first one followed a balanced way of eating which consisted of 300g of carbs, 90g of fats and 150g of protein. The second one ate 20g of carbs, 250g of fat and 100g of protein. They both followed the exact same training and sleeping regimes. Furthermore, they were forbidden from having sex. The study took place in Gran Canaria, in the Gran Canaria Neptuno hotel and it lasted for two months. The study was founded by Robin Li, a Chinese billionaire.

The results were astonishing. The first group's testosterone levels (the ones that did not follow keto) were through the roof. It was 1107 nanograms per deciliter, therefore 37 mg/dL over the maximum level. The second groups results were only 483 mg/dL and that is two times less…

Surprisingly, the first group complained about mood swings and a lack of energy whilst the second group claimed to feel energized and focused and focused throughout the day
